Visas for FSM Citizens
Under the Compact of Free Association, natural citizens of the FSM may enter, reside, study, and work in the United States without visas for an unlimited time. However, FSM citizens living in the U.S. have the status of non-immigrants with no automatic path to citizenship. Conviction of a felony revokes these privileges. Details are available in Section 141 of the Compact of Free Association.
For addition information on FSM privileges, please see the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services information page.
For more information on I-94 registration and employment eligibility (I-765 and I-9), please visit the FSM Embassy website.
Healthcare Insurance for FSM Citizens Resident in the United States
Citizens of the FSM who are long-term residents in the United States are eligible to register for reduced healthcare insurance under the Affordable Care Act. Failure to show proof of any healthcare insurance can incur substantial fines. More information on COFA eligibility can be found at the Department of Health and Human Services FAQ.
