Commander of U.S. Pacific Forces Visits Micronesia
Admiral Timothy J. Keating, Commander, U.S. Pacific Command, paid a brief visit to Pohnpei State in the Federated States of Micronesia on April 8. Admiral Keating and staff paid courtesy calls on FSM President Emanuel Mori, members of his Cabinet, and leading members of the FSM Congress, including Speaker Isaac Figir. Concurrently, ADM Keating’s wife, Wandalee Keating, visited a wounded warrior, Pohnpei State Hospital, and a local market. The trip underscored the United States’ abiding security commitment to the FSM and genuine humanitarian interest in the welfare of the Micronesian people. It also demonstrated to U.S. Pacific Command the important contributions the FSM continues to make to our collective security.
